FAQs
Swim Life is a swim school focused on survival-oriented swim lessons. I teach children (and adults) real water safety skills — such as floating, breath control, and reaching safety — while also building strong swimming foundations as students progress.
I provide one-on-one, individualized instruction. My lessons are grounded in safety, learning science, and long-term skill retention rather than group lessons or recreational-only swimming.
I can begin survival swim lessons as soon as a child can sit up independently — even babies. It’s never too late to learn, and I teach students of all ages.
Survival lessons focus on essential water safety skills such as floating, breath control, movement through the water, and reaching safety in an emergency.

Every child learns at their own pace, and consistency is key. With regular attendance, most children are able to successfully perform swim–float–swim skills within 7 weeks or less. After completing the clothing test, most children move on to maintenance lessons.
Yes — sometimes children do cry. Learning new skills can be challenging. I will never push a child beyond their emotional limits, and crying is a normal, temporary part of the learning process.
I use patience, encouragement, and trust-building techniques to help children feel safe and confident in the water.
Yes — absolutely. I work with all children, no matter what. I have experience working with children on the autism spectrum, as well as children with vision impairments and mobility impairments. Lessons are always adapted to meet your child where they are.
